vbirke 0 Posted June 3, 2011 The sun did not want to crouch on the empty pole... Thanks for viewing and leaving comments. Link to comment
wolfgangarnold 142 Posted June 3, 2011 well, reality we want to depict in our photographs seldom acts as we'd prefer ;-).Nevertheless, I don't see it a big issue that the sun didn't choose the empty pole as the photo works via colours and composition on a large scale, i.e. placement of horizon, rhythm of the poles, sky and water.cheers, Wolfgang Link to comment
alfbailey 2 Posted June 3, 2011 Wow! I love the hazy colour gradation and to me the composition is perfect! There is seldom complete symmetry in nature and the empty pole epitomises reality. The gradual increase in the size of the poles (left to right) seems so in tune with everything else about the image that is gentle and gradual, including the soft colours of the breeze rippled water. An oasis of traquility and a joy to view.Best RegardsAlf Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted June 3, 2011 Hello Volker, IMHO another winner. Good composition and the gradual change of colors from top to bottom is what I like the most. Well seen and presented. Take care.Holger Link to comment
vbirke 0 Posted June 4, 2011 Dear Wolfgang, Alf, and Holger! Thanks so much for your comments, they are really helpful and encouraging. Please note that I'm currently a bit struggling with (my new) MKII, but it seems to deliver - at least - pretty good images as the old 5D (regarding its higher resolution - while zooming in - seems to perform significantly better at least, which could be expected...). Your notes are therefore very valuable to me.Cheers, Volker Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted June 4, 2011 Volker... I really like the soft, hazy atmosphere which is so real for the time of day and yet, the birds are very sharp. Beautiful, natural color... Mike Link to comment

3m 0 Posted June 4, 2011 I too like the soft hazy mood in your capture. The 3 poles provide a strong enough 'contrasting element' in your photo, and anchor the photo nicely. The gradation of the sunset light and colors is very pleasing to look at. A lovely atmosphere..! Best regards, Marjolein Link to comment
