Hi all! What made me take this shot were the interesting, similar

colors of the car, the shutters and the roof. When I got my photos

back from the lab, it was clear to me that these color similarities

were not obvious enough. That's why I used selective coloring on this

one. The colors of the car, the shutters and the roof are the

original colors. Any comments, ratings or critique is most welcome.

Thanks!

Good photo. Very geometrical, strong straight lines and a nice touch of color. It looks like you did not mask out the tree limb tips that reach into the tile roof when desaturating the rest of the image or however you edited in PS. I think the composition might be stronger if the roof more accurately picked up the color in the car. What do you think? I masked out the tree tips to make them stand out better against the red roof.

Thanks for the comments! Yes Rick, I did forget to mask out the tips of the branches, but I didn't fail to do it on the larger, printed version. You have a great eye, I thought noone would notice it, that's why I didn't upload the fixed version. :)) About the roof... Your version really looks better. My idea was to make the car a bit brighter, to match the roof, but I didn't like it. Weird, but it never crossed my mind to make the roof more similar to the car. :) Thanks again!

I chose the car color over the roof because I thought it was the stronger color of the two. Funny how our minds work so differently to sometimes not see all the possibilities.

Idi bre! E, ovo ti je dobro! Matori, samo nastavi tako! :) Da znas, bas si me dobro iznenadio! Sto bi mi rekli, slika ti je DO JAJA! :)))

While in the first place having congratulated you I do have some thoughts ;) I think I would have given the Citroen 2CV just a bit more space, left and right. That would have lead to all the ornaments around the window to be visible. That's actually all of my critique :) I still don't know what to say. It's just wow! :)

In case some of you are wondering, I was just thanking my countryman Milos for his comment in our native language. Milos, I took a few shots of this scene, and this "tight" one looks the best to me. I plan to make a large print of this, it will fit nicely on my bedroom wall. :)) Thanks!

It's a nicely composed shot, but I don't like the "hand-colored" look to it...It reminds me of those awful greeting cards with the B&W photos of childern holding bouquets of red roses.

very nice Dejan... it's a tad packed & I wish the tree wasn't there. Perhaps cropping the roof out would relax the composition a bit but I love the almost color pencil-like quality of it.

'beautiful photo...the car stands out more in the original, using the same colour for roof and car the pic seems flat as not a focal point if same colour. The background being more subdued is good'...quoting the beautiful daughter. ;)

I like this one a lot too, wish we had interesting buildings in Texas...sayeth the mother
