tonyfrench 0 Posted June 2, 2011 Ruud, While you are only showing a small part of this scene, we get quite a bit of information about it. I like how the tubing snakes through the image and disappears in the upper part of the image. The feet stepping over the tubing while the right one is at the very edge of the hole seems as though he may be losing his balance. Link to comment

mark_q 0 Posted June 11, 2011 I must say I was quite (pleasently) surprised as I saw this photo first time. I mean that you have started to work on B&W and also that you focus on a detail that leaves a lot to play in viewer's imagination. As I'm thinking of this moment I feel there was more drama behind the camera than in front of it. In my mind's eye I can see you struggling to get this low camera position - or maybe you just lowered the camera down without having direct control trough the viewfinder?Anyway, strong photo by the tonal values, for me a symbol you are stepping into new territorium (B&W). As small reminder I wonder how much you adjust the color original before converting to grayscale. You maybe know well already that by adjusting the tint and saturation of various colors you affect their tonal value in B&W for better rendering according your vision. All this like a digital version to using color filters during B&W film photography. Just my 2 cents. Link to comment
