Very well done on subject positioning. The composition is great, as is the toning and mystery of not quite being able to see the subjects eyes. Texture in the skin, and contrast makes this image strong too, and I like that the crucifix makes a statement about the character. My only question is the bgrd. It appears as though it may have been pasted as a layer behind the subject as the edges of the arm and hand have very hard lines.

I wondered if anyone noticed the background at left, and I see Geraldine has already made my intended comment, so I will not repeat.

Thank you for your comments. I have had a second look at this image and I am going to rework the backgroung a bit. I was optimased for print proof which work on my epson fine but the screening version needs some extra work. I fully apriciate your input. Regards pK.

Very strong feeling to this shot. He could be feeling so many things at the same time, ranging from despondent to tired to deep in thought, yet content. GREAT. I LOVE IT. The cross around his neck really draws the viewer in.

Maybe I'll never take a picture like this, but you make me want to try... if only I knew where to start :)

You need to darken the background a little bit, the selection is still visible.

Very strong picture almost abstract, The sharpness of the forearm attracts most of my attention, I would have liked to see the image so sharp that you would see every pore in the face also.

A brilliant portrait. I am pleased to have discovered your portfolio by following the link from you comment on one of my pictures. I am very impressed with the broad spectrum of your photographic expression. In particular this portrait captures the intensity of immersion in prayer quite superbly. Congratulations.

Wonderful lighting, strong composition and good choice of aperture; looks more like a deep thinker than one at prayer - but perhaps it's the same thing. Fine details where it matters, I enjoy the moody toning. Regards.
