Best shot of your portfolio so far, I think. I could wish for just a little more DOF so that the topmost leaf of the foreground subject was in focus, but very nice overall. The matte...doesn't work IMVHO, but I'm biased against anything grander than a thin black border. (The color seems slightly "off" for the tones in the photo, at least on my monitor.)

I would love some feedback on this shot...

Your nature folder features the best work of your photo.net portfolio. The moon, trees (vertical), and this image are all beautiful and emotive. They communicate your sense of naturalism and photo-literacy.

 

As for this photograph specifically, I agree with the previous commenter -- more DOF and no mat. IMHO the shallow DOF keeps this from being your best shot, but it's your best composition. You've gotten the viewer close without losing a sense of the environment. The framing (not to be confused with "the frame") has nice proportion and layers; it invites me to keep looking. You even managed to expose fair detail on the bright white petals.

By the way, I came to offer my comments because of your non-confrontational approach in the forums. PN could use more people like you. Keep shooting, and dont let the trolls get you down.
