I took a good shot of the group of mallards attacked a younger one. The

young mallard was able to escape from those angry mallards. You will be

able to see the agony and suffering.

Good timing with the shutter.  If the duck that was the subject of the attack is the female in the center, then the motivation was unlikely anger.   (Can ducks be motivated by anger?)  It is a species trait for some unpaired male teals within breeding season to forceably mate with female teals, females from other species and even other male teals.  Harsh, but true.

Mallards are notorious for brutal sexual encounters.  Even among ducks, mallards seem to be the most aggressive.

Great capture Nelson. The lighter coloured duck in the middle is a female Mallard the green/blue heads are drakes trying to mate with her. Well done.
