Continuing my adventure into macro down by the lake. I found these

insect eggs stuck to a leaf.

Critiques and ideas for macro are very welcome. I am still learning

and any tips more experienced macro shooters have are greatly

appreciated.

Hi Kyle,

Very interesting subject and nice contrast with the surrounding colors.

I noticed upon enlargement that the left egg actually has many very small cell like structures, while the egg on the left does not.

I do not think that this is due to any focus issue, but rather that one egg might be further along in its development. Just a guess here. Furthermore, the fine structure of the plant is in focus where the eggs are as well.

My only suggestion ,when using the flash , is to try many different angles on the subject if possible.

Nice work.

Regards,  Mike

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the comment. I was amazed as well at the detail that I got out of this photo. It was quite a tough day today due to the wind and cold but there were still some really interesting things out there.
