A lower angle on the shot and softer light would increased dramatic effect in the photo.

Jeremy, good point. I guess part of the answer is to 'work' it, take many views & not just one like I did. (too cheap with the film) Bill, here is a desaturated version for you & anyone else with your question. Best, LM.

The biggest problem, to me, is that the water seems to be in sharp focus but his head is not.

Also a polarizer might take that glare off the water, but on the other hand the Grand doesn't have a really attractive colour most of the time....
