Gosh, it's been almost a year since I saw this, Deb.

What I have seen plenty of in really wild places is trees or bushes (including Canadian Hemlock) that have had their branches rubbed raw from deer rubbing the velvet off their antlers on those branches--or at least that is the explanation that has been given to me.

I like this a lot.  The green and the tonal variation give the image depth which enhances the overall look. Congrats to you and your model (the deer?)
