Unruly Son

When I see photos like this I wonder if the photographer knows that they can turn the camera around and stop wasting space either side of the subject.  It is so easy to take photographs with the camera horizontal that it takes definite effort to turn it to portrait format and concentrate on the crux of the subject matter.  I fault myself on this matter too :-)

Thank you for your comment. I do agree that close cropping would help focus on the situation. However, I do not necessarily consider the space around as wasted; it provides some information on the surroundings.
