Not much commentary here. I'm not sure this was worth the trouble, because it was more trouble than most others. These backlit subjects are just plain difficult to process well. I hate 255 and I hate 0, so keeping within those numbers is a grind, and in the end, not possible. If no effort was given, however, then this would be a bigger mess than it already is. I'm having some afterthoughts on whether I could have arranged for the tree and Half Dome to be off-center, but verticals don't give as much space. Well, I stopped and shot the scene, so I might as well share what I thought was worth sharing!

It's probably not very helpful to simply say that I really enjoyed looking at it and looked at it for quite a while; but it's so.

Wouldn't it have been difficult to change your composition without losing the window of opportunity of the sunbeam? The tree did kind of get in the way (I want to see what that light is shining on), but overall I think it works and is a great example of what one can see...for a moment.

Your near, far , perspective is just outstanding and the vibrancy of the greens just takes my breath away. Very well done, Mark.
