Scar Ridge - White Mountains

The last winter storm rolls over Scar Ridge and Mount Osceola near Waterville Valley, New Hampshire. I stitched 2 horizontal images and used a 2 stop grad ND to hold detail in the clouds, which I wanted to emphasize in this image. I was surprised how much color appeared in the tree trunks and this contrasted nicely with the fresh snow on the mountain side. While no Rockies, this is one of the more imposing ridglines in NH.

Beautiful clouds, the dusting of snow and the subtle colors all add up to a very good image. i wonder if  a magic hour capture would have made any impact?
