Nice idea. It seems that the trees aren't quite vibrant enough, and the black space in the upper left becomes a secondary subject which is distracting.

Steve, I'm really missing some human element in this picture. I think when you include a human element in a scene like this one you give more life to scene. Thats only my opinion... think about

Maybe walking over to the left about 50 feet would show the front of the barn, which might have a door, which might hint at the human element that Paulo is looking for. This angle is so cut and dry that the barn looks flat and featureless. Not helping in any way is the uninspired lighting, which provides no contours or depth to the barn, the foliage, or the grass. I would think the light is your worst enemy from this angle of view and at this time of day.
