Very nicely seen and composed.  This is an interesting and unique perspective of the upper falls that is rarely photographed.  Lovely reflection, and the black and white processing suits the scene to a 'T'.  Well done!  Cheers!  Chris

Leo,

It's as if you put my eyes right there seeing for myself.  The only thing missing is the feel of the air on my face and the sounds of nature unfolding.  Thanks for the journey!

Leo..Always wondered why everybody seemed to be hanging around the Swinging Bridge at dawn.  Very cool shots had there obviously.  You picked up some really great reflections in this capture.  Would love to see the original color shot someday...Lefty

Looking at this again, one has to really appreciate the artistic 'brush-work' you've done to highlight the sunlit birch trees in the background.  The tonal range is simply phenomenal.  The Ektalure cream toning is the capper.  Great work!  Cheers!  Chris

Thank you all for your kind words, when I first walked out on the bridge it was the reflections that caught my eye and I wanted to work with them and avoid the much photographed overall scene. I'm glad that I changed my mind and decided to try "my" version of this iconic scene. I am quite pleased with the way this turned out. Ray, I'm attaching the color version for your viewing.I also like the color version, so I will be anxious to hear what you think.

Although this is a much photographed vista, I couldn't help but try my

version too. Now, I wish the Dogwoods were blooming and there were

clouds but wishing won't make it true. I have also attached the color

version for comparison and will be interested to see which is more

preferred.

I think its a toss-up between which one I like better, the color or b/w.  Both are great enough to stand on thier own merits.  Your colors are sweet Leo, but being a big fan of your black and white shots would pick that as my fav of the two.

The color version is truly lovely too.  I'm with Lefty, in that it is a toss-up, but as I love your B&W work, I'd probably lean that direction as well.  Thanks for sharing both!  Cheers!  Chris

Very nice work, good, even tones through out.  This is one of my bucket-list destinations I plan on making happen soon.  Great photo~

great shot and composition! reminds me of ansel adams (maybe because i've only seen these places in his photos). i think on a tiny computer display the color version works better because you can see the sun-lit trees in the background better; if, on the other hand, i were to make a large print i would definitely go for the b&w. also, i feel the graduated filter at the top is too evident and kind of disturbs the eye.

best regards!

Thank you Nathan Guilio, Giulio, I didn't use a graduated filter on this image but rather added a gradient layer in Photoshop because of the blank white sky. I guess I should have been a bit more careful to not make it so obvious.
