davidmccracken 2 Posted May 12, 2011 My thanks to Owen O'Meara for encouraging me to think about posting an image that does not retain the original aspect ratio of the camera it was shot with. Feedback appreciated. Link to comment
gsphotoguy 3 Posted May 13, 2011 I love the sense of mystery here, David. This has the feeling of a still from an film. The balance of light feels like it does in real life. A terrific image! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 13, 2011 A View of Rooms...as opposed to A Room with a View?I think this is marvelous. One of your best. I love the split-frame look that the windown frame gives this shot...almost as if we're seeing two photographs side by side. There's a definite cinema noir look to this for me, and I like how the girl seems isolated from the clutter of the scene outside the window. The clean lines of the window frame adds to that opposite of clutter look.I think this photograph is open to several interpretations, which is another big reason I love it. Outstanding b&w, I might add, and by all rights, should be a prime candidate for photo.net's POW. Link to comment

sideris 0 Posted May 16, 2011 David, for sure one of your best. The composition is based on a concept that I like it very much: the "In-out" atmosphere. Inside the sensual nudity of a young woman with a great lightning, suggesting silence, intimacy, and a kind of curiosity for the "other side" of the window. Outside the whole world occupying the full scenery, noisy, dirty, overcrowded, and merciless. This is a formidable work. Chapeau for you. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted May 16, 2011 Vladamir, Thanks for stopping by.Carlos, I fear your interpretation is better than the image itself. Thank you kindly for those words. Link to comment
sideris 0 Posted May 16, 2011 No David, it's impossible. But I should say that a photo is just light turned into emotions. So, that's what happen to me in front of this. Link to comment
JPPhoto1664880217 5 Posted May 25, 2011 I thought I had already commented on this, but I see I haven't.The contrast works to really increase the dramatic look of the image, it is a film noir look I really like. Excellent! Jim Phelps Link to comment
