Uhooru 2,207 Posted June 30, 2015 This was meant to catch the energy of NYC. Does it do that? Thoughts and impressions gratefully appreciated. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 30, 2015 I think it's a cool street shot and certainly have seen scenes like this in NYC. It does capture energy, especially because of the blurred woman and I kind of like the line of backs, single file. Whether it captures NYC in particular I'm not sure. For me, there would have to be some sign that we were in NYC, like a deli or a New York Times in someone's hand, just as examples, but lots of other things could give it away. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted July 4, 2015 Barry, I'm curious whether YOU think it captures NYC in particular. It's your work and what you see in it is fairly crucial. Link to comment
Uhooru 2,207 Posted July 5, 2015 Well, I did title the photo so. I realize there's no actual obvious thing that points out NYC as opposed to any other city on a cool day, but I have had friends from NYC tell me that it absolutely captures the feel of Midtown Manhattan during the fall months at that time period (Nov 2007). So many streets had construction going and these "tunnels" were commonplace. Its the pace of the walking that helps capture the energy. So that's why I'm not adamant that it could only be NYC, but that it certainly is most consistent with NYC at that time. It really is part of a set of photographs on Flickr that in context would make it seem more so. https://flic.kr/s/aHsiSTjcpd Link to comment
