This chair was left in a particular position when it was placed there, perhaps without a lot of thought except that it had to be placed there. It has nothing to do with the information on the wall; it is used by the attendants at Tate. Thank you for your constructive comments. Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted May 9, 2011 Samrat, I am not qualified to discuss about subconscious(unconscious). This chair is neither Freud's chair(sofa) nor a dentist's chair or electric chair. It is an attendant's chair, as you have mentioned. The positioning of the empty chair and the floor mats lend a different dimension to the image. But for the chair , the wall would have looked flat.
