marcadamus 1 Posted May 6, 2011 A new interpretation of an old idea of mine from Oregon's ColumbiaGorge. A recent landslide opened up a new view of these falls thispast winter and I tried to take advantage of it. Any thoughts orquestions are welcome. Link to comment
benhuybrechts 0 Posted May 7, 2011 Hello Marc,Wonderful capture. The composition with the two waterfalls, the big stone on the left and the two stones in the water, is great. Also lighting is excellent.I like it.I miss the details about how the shot is taken, but that is only because I want to learn from the best.Best regards,Ben Link to comment

marcadamus 1 Posted May 7, 2011 Hi Ben, thanks. There were 4 exposures used here. I made the sun-star exposure at f/22\. You see the 'star' appearing through the trees. I had some flare when the sun-star was at its best so I waited until it was subdued by the trees more and blended a small piece of an image without flare to remove it. I then controlled the sky highlights with another exposure at 1/20 second, f/11 and everything else at .8 seconds, f/11. A polarizer was used on all, as I didn't want to bother taking it off standing almost waist-deep in the freezing water. Link to comment
marc_dilley1 0 Posted May 9, 2011 Marvelous. The two stones in the middle of the stream and the centered sun is riveting. Link to comment
patflynn 0 Posted May 11, 2011 The structure of this shot isn't all that spectacular in light of your usual bent for the more grandiose compositions. But what I love about this image is the successful blending of four exposures. I remember very clearly when you disdained such practices and disavowed the use of PS beyond an average of 5 minutes per image. I'm glad you progressed past that because I really don't see any limitations on your photography being effective, unless self-imposed! Link to comment
donnat 0 Posted May 18, 2011 Marc,I love how you have blended the photos. Is this Lauterall Falls? Did you blend using Photoshop or other software? Very nice photo and perspective. Very nice and thanks for sharing.Donna T Link to comment
