Revisited this shot from a few years back. Wanted to capture the warmth of

this house amidst the cold winter's night. Although it does appear darker

here than in CS3 on my computer, I'm happy with the results. Thoughts?

You can easily light up your picture to make details come to life. Attached is a suggestion. Regards...

Thank you Aykut!

Your version is how it is supposed to look and how it DOES look on my computer in Lightroom and Photoshop. Something is happening during the jpeg conversion that makes it dark light this. Not sure what and/or why.

Its perfect night shot with respect to composition and contrast, but is a bit dark in my monitor. I agree with the suggested version, though a minor improvement. Regards.

Hamid.

Are you using an sRGB color profile in Photoshop?

Before uploading to PN, I usually convert my profile out of whatever I'm working in in Photoshop to an sRGB and that usually makes the PN version match my Photoshop version. My guess is that if you try converting the jpg you're going to post to a couple of different pre-set profiles, you'll find one that will make it match in PN what you're seeing in Photoshop.

I really like the atmosphere of your photograph -- it brings back so many memories and feelings I have of growing up in small towns in Montana.

Lately, I've been converting my b&w images to grayscale for upload to another site and then make my jpeg conversion. Wondering if this is what's causing it. I think the "save for web" in Photoshop then puts it back to sRGB. Could be where it's happening.

I like your darker version, it has a very nice peaceful mood, the light is soft and the details are well seen.  Well composed as well.

Although I do like the brighter version, the original strikes more of a winter mood, stumbling through the dark snow to find where the light is coming from.
