I'm very much impressed by this photo again. The Californian landscape at its best! It is maybe time for a collection of your extraordinary Californian landscape images. Have you already thought about such a project?

Thanks Volker! Actually, the notion occurred to me when I found out we were moving to California over 4 years ago! My love for the California landscape is a project that consumes me. That is a very kind comment and I truly appreciate it!!

Brilliant composition, Mark. The way the sun star comes through that tree silhouette is particularly lovely.

Constructive: On my monitor, the green is a bit too heavy throughout, and the shadows are a little less blue than I'd want. I attached a quickly-worked adjustment to show what I'm thinking of: conversion to Lab mode, curves layer, with a boost in the a chanel's mid range, and and S curve in the b, deepening the low blue and boosting high yellow. Conversion back to RGB, followed by a slight saturation layer boost and darkening overall.

(And yes, it's overly reddish and too dark now, but I hope it gets the idea across!)
