My friend and I went to see my brother in Vancouver, and decided to

meet in Stanley Park. I got this shot while waiting for my brother to

show up. I have not figured out how to "straighten" things, and I

used my 10-22, so some buildings are leaning a little. However, let

me know what you think.

Paul,

Vancouver is one of my favorite cities, certainly one of the world's most beautiful.  You have captured an excellent shot here, wonderful reflection. I am not bothered by the slightly leaning buildings.  The main thing is that the shore line is straight and horizontal.   The image is sharp, and the quiet glassy water enhances it more.  You have been rewarded for getting up early. How do you like the image cropped as I have it here?  I think it's a matter of preference.  I also added a bit more vibrance, +14.

Congratulations on an excellent image.   Larry

Hi Larry.  First off, thanks for the positive input on this one.  I really felt lucky to have been there at the right time of the day.  I like you crop as well as the original image.  They both offer slightly different perspectives, and weighting.  I wanted to keep enough of the shoreline in shadow to provide a base to this one.  Yet, do I need that?  Like you say, it is a matter of preference.  I appreciate that you throw out alternatives, Larry.  I find myself doing the same thing.  I find it allows you to challenge not only the original image  maker, but yourself at the same time.  Take care, and all the best, Larry.

Paul

I am posting my version of a crop to compare these directly.  I left just a little more in the foreground.  What do you think of that?
