Technically, I'd rate this as just about a perfect portrait with the catchlights in the eyes and even a bit of key triange below her right eye. The rimlight on the right side of her face is also very effective. Still, the little girl looks so somber that I can't help but wonder if this is her real personality -- of just a pensive moment.

Thanks Jim for your comment. The triangle and two ovals (the face and neck line) along with the comtemplative mood and close cropping presented this child in one of her very frequent states. The picture, according to her grandmother, reflects the essence of Ally's nature.

Beautiful capture...I've seen and recall that expression so often on my daughters faces. Contemplative, an excellent word to describe it.
