The larger view really brings it to life, beautiful colours and rich greens. I don't think the sky is too bad, so much better than a plain white sky. Maybe a polarisor filter would have added a bit more blue hue, but you do have to be careful using them against a plain sky, as discolouration or patches can occur. I like the low angle of the shot too, it can of gives an intimate perspective of the flowers, like you are looking into thier private kingdom.
