dianedh 7 Posted April 24, 2011 This is a wonderful shot, the best of the 3 I believe. I especially like how you captured the bright horizon just under the arch. Nice job.Diane Link to comment
kts 0 Posted April 24, 2011 wonder why more people don't try this angle...i actually prefer this to the straight on sunrise shots......nicely done Tm J Link to comment
tm_j 30 Posted April 24, 2011 Hi Thom, unless it's a day with nice cloud (like the day I took this) then it might not be as good a this angle might be the reason. I took this because I thought the cloud formation was so unreal, great looking. Also, a friend had taken the spot and let me squeezed in does help as well. Link to comment
dom1 1 Posted April 24, 2011 I like this one too, but it's hard to pick a favorite. That ultra wide Sigma really packs in a lot! Link to comment
wedeko 0 Posted April 24, 2011 Really love the light and the dynamic sky, makes it different from all the others :) Link to comment
wmhoodphoto 0 Posted April 24, 2011 Nice POV. I too, like this one best, with the image focused front to back. Link to comment
tm_j 30 Posted April 24, 2011 Thanks Dominick, Wendy & William!Dominick, the Sigma is ok for around $500 (used) but if I had the $2500 Canon 14mm I think it would be a lot better. The word I have for this lens is ' fickleness', sometimes I get good shot, sometimes I get bad shot and sometimes, I get so so shot. This one is more of the so so + shot. :-) - Make sure to bring your 5D Mark II when you go to Moab in May ... spread your legs some on the main land, LOL! Link to comment
stp 6 Posted April 26, 2011 I haven't seen the other shots in this series that some commenters are referring to, but I immediately liked the different perspective of this shot relative to the many photographs taken by others at this location. It's for the very reason you've cited: the interesting cloud formations above the arch. Good eye. Link to comment
