Hello Andrea,

This picture put a big smile on my face.  I like it.

Traffic jams on a bookshelf. It reminds me that I made the right decision to buy a motorcycle to avoid them.

The light is great and the topic original and creative.

Well done,
Ben

books, automobiles, road trips, and sagging old bookshelves... all at the top of my list of favorite things, Andrea! it's warm and exciting and comforting and delicious with light and darkness, passion, pain, and ideas that endure... this picture, to me, is maybe like a poem for Jack Kerouac and The Beats? ...ahhh, but i wish a could smell this heavenly shrine ... grazie for this beautiful treasure ;-} dp

thanks, happy you enjoy this photo. donna, may be your are right... the title of course, but at least the first lines of Howl are always present. Everyone has - should have - his personal "angry fix"

si... Howl is always howling... yet perhaps i wax too poetic, as usual, "with the absolute heart of the poem butchered out of their own bodies good to eat a thousand years." ;-} ...still the allusion from your title is irresistable... nonetheless, beyond The Beats allusion is your rendering of the road trip as a trip for the mind, with the books representing buildings along the road (quite ingenious, Andrea)... all that is in books happens in buildings as well as out on the streets... such is the trip... and the image...  questo è vero, sì?     ;-} dp

Very interesting shelf and book collection and shot. Usually, I use my shelf to check the performance of a camera or a lens. However, have given away my Match Box cars a long time ago... ;-)

Anyway, very good study and composition. Bravissimo.

Ciao

Volker

An interesting detail, the bright central area guiding the wandering eye back into the picture.  Some of the books look too well worn to have been purchased new, even if read 1000 times, so I'm assuming they are the product of many trips to the second hand book store.  Nothing wrong with that.  Many a gem is found in tattered surroundings.  The line up of vehicles, both top and bottom, reminds me of the road to cottage country on a summer weekend.  Bumper to bumper, both ways!  Best, LM.

This must be a lovely sight to wake up to, Andrea -- I really like the way the morning light touches the books and little cars on the shelves.  (my son liked looking at this photo too :-)  An original capture -- I like it a lot!

Lovely light and original photo! This one reminds me of my son's bookcase when he was a young boy...lined up right alongside his books were his miniature cars and his model airplanes. Lovely photo and thank you for the memories! :)

Questa libreria è decisamente affascinante! Mi incuriosicono i titoli dei libri che insieme alle auto rivelano la personalità del proprietario, forse un po' filosofo ma anche un po' bambino! Un saluto, Sergio

I love this!! It reminds me of a dear friend of mine. He doesn't want me to mention him by name, or post any of his photos. In his farmhouse is a set of shelves like this, with books and mementoes (memories from his past): such as special rocks, and his Dr. Seuss collection his mother saved and gave to him. This photo reminds me of our visit to his farm recently. I love the lighting.
