confined wild animals are generally bored and not taking any notice of

visitors... what makes them stare directly at you is always a mystery

to me but I'll "take it"... as you can see, I made no attempt to edit

anything out, including the fencing which I consider important to the

context of this leopard portrait.

Lovely capture with great detail & clarity.

-I have and will always love leopards - Would not mind a big "Cat" like this one in my home- You mentioned that it always seems as if the ones behind "bars" are staring at a person. I noticed that many years ago and my conclusion was : They are asking to be let free.

Any animals be it from the big cats to the birds in the cages were never meant to be in Zoos and as far as I am concerned it is cruel. But then again, there are some species that have become endangered and by keeping them in a Zoo they were more protected and some breeding programs started again from that very factor that they have at least those few left. Just by looking directly into this ones eyes you can see the cry for help.

Congratulations on this capture and thank you for bringing attention to these beautiful creatures. Warmest Regards from Africa

Frederick,

Beautiful image, you have captured the saddest in his eyes & the beauty on his markings.  Thanks for sharing.  Take care, Patsy
