Andrea, I like this a lot. Within the simply composed image, the complex play of line, shape and light is really wonderful. The neutral color palette has a nice elegance to it.

Hello Andrea,

Usually I comment if photographers made a good choice of BW, in your case I will do now the opposite.  Good choice of color, the limited colors and tones make it a strong picture.

Well Done,

Ben

Very well composed.  The light, color palette , forms, reflection and human figure are all  fitting beautifully together.Very nice work.

Great!

I like the greys and the colors. The verticals and light&shadows.

Maybe the person should have a little more ground to stand on (a slight pan downwards) although that would have cut a little from those nice verticals.

(Nitpick: there seems to be a slight tilt to the left. mostly an optical illusion caused by the light streaks but I think there's also a real tilt.)

Hope this helps, Matthijs.

L.

PS: Matthijs, the tilt is only an optical illusion due to the diagonal shadows. If you use the computer frame as a reference you see it clearly.

Ciao Andrea, I very much like the way you composed this. ( and in vertical format! :-)  The play of light & shadows, and the different textures, (beautiful subdued) colors, and your main subject ( the girl, in slight motion), are all optimally used to make this a successful composition, imo. I don't perceive a tilt here,  and I agree with Luca that this could be an optical illusion, due to the diagonal shadows.  Ciao! (& thanks for your message, btw)  PS: When you use color, Andrea, you really use it well, I think = always beautiful tones & and never 'overdone' -- compliments!

yah... in the piece of art on exhibit... the brown tone and the red tone corresponding to the woman's hair and purse, the sandstone color of the piece corresponding to her skirt, the shadows corresponding to her shirt and shoes, the powerful gravity of the wonderful solid piece and her movement towards it... all a wonderful balance of connecting an abstract piece of art to reality. awesome, A ;-} dp

Ha

I stand corrected on the tilt.

(And I had even measured it before I posted the remark. A good thing I'm no carpenter.)

All the best, Matthijs.

thanks everybody, my friends. i think too the horizont is not perfectly aligned. strange, i dont see it on my computer, only on photonet....in that place seems to be on a set, for the lights. is funny for who, as me, never went on a set...

Carissimo Andrea, In questa hai fermato il tempo. Straordinaria composizione e colori speciali. Con una raddrizzatina è perfetta.

Ciao

Paolo

What I love about this photo is the composition. The lady's legs are crossed and that adds to the abstract nature of the photo. It is also complemented by the slanting light from right to left (much like her right leg). I think you have taken the shot from a height (your own or otherwise) and that, I think, is the right angle for this shot. The subtle colour helps create a nice atmosphere. Regards.
