I immediately thought that you could get much more attention if this were titled Nude on a Block of Ice.

I love this idea and the resulting photograph. I've seen many photographs of nudes on cubes, and made a few myself, but the lighted cube makes this far more interesting. The pose and the use of the deep shadows against a black background nicely abstracts Petra's figure. The additional light to our left adds just enough so we don't lose her completely in the shadows that would have resulted from the cube alone. I also feel that the B&W is appropriate here. A very well made and original image, Philippe!

So, having said all of that, did you make any exposures with just the cube as the light source?

No I didn't... But I will with try it with some other model : Petra being (relatively) shy, she kept her legs closed, which meant no light from the cube would reach upper parts of her body, except for some heavy contortions. So I figured I needed some additional light.

Besides I adjusted the cube light so that it wouldn't "burn" the body parts touching it, so the actually light from the cube falls off rapidely.

I look forward to seeing those results, Philippe. I can visualize a number of poses that would work. The proximity to the light does cause rapid fall-off, like in the color image, but that would be part of the beauty.
