Nice to see the color. An exquisite scene.  I guess a very modern fresco.  Lovely presentation with the three spectators, who are also enraptured with it (though she shouldn't be touching the paint!).

Exemplary use of the foreground and background as one.

Exemplary photograph without qualification in any case.

I note the 'hands' and 'arms' particularly help tie the foreground figure(s) to the 'background'.   Good use of light and shadow, too, to help the figures blend together and help fool the eye (trompe d'oeil).

Worth a second look or more.

I note also the triangle of the sky, and another triangle of the stone area where they are standing and note they are complementary.

I could list more, but I'll let someone else have a turn.

Meir, yes this one is really cool!

Ok John, I continue on the relation which can be found with the little girl sitting on the column looking down to the boy with the red cap. Here the circle closes that composition of old and new which was already the intend of the painter and which was continued by Meir in the image. That also is enhanced by the old column and the people of this days.

Still much more - the next one please.

Ciao Axel

To me, the best bit about this photo is that the spectators seem to be a part of the entire scenario. If one looks at the direction of sight of the lady in the centre (with a white veil) and that of the man just to the right of the little girl, they seem to be looking at the girls. Even the cat in the left corner....

The wall on the left helps to create a third dimension with the camel and people "emerging" from the space behind.

Please share some details about the painting and how you composed the shot. Regards.

Great photo! Great moment is captured here. Past and present talking to each other. I was amazed by similar scene once on Cardo. There was an orthodox lady watching  her children plying  between pillars. You could   hear  their crisp voices bouncing all over an ancient place and also its deep, old silence.

The subjects and the background go so well together, all the way down to the cat in the lower LH corner. I don't remember seeing a color photo posted by you, and color definately is the way to go. Good one.

Just now getting around to an answer. The mural dipicts the Roman Cardo as it was at that time (Roman Occupation 2nd Temple period) in this place -"Old City". Some of the pillars are still standing. For what is a  "Roman Cardo"?, look to wikipedia.

At this Roman occupation the people at the background are looking uniform, there's no remarks or indication of their faith,it seems to me that the different faiths where in harmony with themselves and with others.

Regards.
