This scene with its very sharp detail in the foreground and threatening sky advancing from the background could serve as the frontpiece for a volume of failry tales.

I rather like the subdued colors in this image Chuck.  Excellent detail and impressive ominious sky and reflections.  The stump automatically catches the eye, but soon we are led into the image, very good perspective as well, detial as far as the eye can see.  Nice work! Most sincerely, Gail

Very, very good; an interesting perspective.  Hard to get this sort of thing without it going all flat.  Is this HDR?

Rob. Yes, this is an HDR image, made from 3 shots bracketed +/- 2 stops. I also did some dodging, burning, and selective mode sharpening.
