Welcome to street photography!...which seems be a master in that also! Impressive street capture, with nice wide angle view, clever selection of its elements, and very inspiring mono-conversion. I like it so much, as much as your matsterful landscapes. Bravo.

Alf, I like the expanse of the scene with the bend of the road/buildings and their soft tones. The focus of the scene works well with the man on his way up or down from his knee. The elder woman seems perhaps uninterested or more interested in something off the way. 

On bended knee. Perfectly captured and the birds in the sky is the philly cheese lemon cinamon (daubs of strawberry) icing.

Sincere thanks for stopping by, just by way of an explanation, the guy kneeling down was taking a photograph of the group, but such was his kneeling position and the uninterested expression of the elderly lady, it kind of reminded me of Queen Victoria being bowed to...hence the title.

I'm glad you mentioned the road / buildings as they are part of the LLandudno victorian promenade and seem to be in keeping with the image. The man is on his way up after taking thier photograph, but the scene gave me the distinct impression of a loyal subject paying tribute to Queen Victoria, (the elderly lady) her haughty countenance a legendary disposition.

Great shot, Alf. It has both strong emotional content and well balanced composition. Of course one can speak about the decisive moment (but I'm afraid all about that has been said many times). And even so it is so much easier said than done. But certainly you did it!

I never really thought of the building wrapping round them as you aptly described, but now you come to mention it I can see what you mean. The buildings are Victorian, and as the subject has a distinctly Queen Victoria aura, they kind of comppliment one another.

I'm really pleased you liked it. Yeah I'm getting the knack Jerry, still very much a learner though. The beauty of photography is that the depth of knowledge is so great, that it's vitually impossible to know everything.

Yeah she has quite a regal countenance Jerry, but not actually of Royal descent, or not that I know of!  It is one that I'm considering for inclusion in a contest too, but just waiting for them to announce the right category.

Thank you for your well considered thoughts, much appreciated! I must say I'm enjoying street photography much more than I ever thought I would. I used the 70 - 300mm Tamron for this shot which is of course quite a large conspicuous lens, so I took a seat on a inconspicuous bench  and kind made out I was taking photo's of the sea front etc. It seemed to work. But maybe I'll try my 50mm prime lens next outing.....its a bit more discreet.
