Guest Guest Posted April 11, 2011 hi Olaf.. i keep looking for a shiny round disk but cant find one?oh that kind of blue ray?? i think the blue line emphasizes the mans profile as well as the black background does. i also appreciate the way you have captured his hair blowing in the breeze.. take care sam Link to comment
olafdevries 0 Posted April 12, 2011 By the new technique a blue ray, a finer and thinner one, is reading the information, the "previous" ray is a red one. About his hair, often in the harbour town it's a bit windy here. Keep taking your camera..! Link to comment
svetlana_korolyova 27 Posted April 12, 2011 Interesting street portrait, but I think that the blue color distracts attention from the man's face! I prefer the BW version. Link to comment
olafdevries 0 Posted April 12, 2011 I think you are right for otherwise the remark on the blue would be useless. However, the same color was a main reason for me in shooting the image. Call it brutal, however it's also giving balance. I'm only looking for color now, so a conversion, in my "unprofi" way, very rarely will be made.PS. Your Tsar Peter 1 the Great, Pyotr Alexeyevich Romanov, incognito visiting Holland in 1697, did ask permission in copying the Dutch flag (Red White Blue) for Russia. It wasn't allowed, so the Russian flag got White Blue Red. The last I do prefer, only the Red ray is missing in the image..! :) Link to comment
