I don't hate it by any means, but I don't think the composition works. I like the colors, the strong colors of his suit against the more pastel, muted colors of the wall behind him and the scene outside. That has a lot of potential. His expression doesn't do much for me. There's not much to read in his face. His placement in the frame seems self conscious. Precisely just like you wanted something different but had no particular visual reason for THIS placement. If there were some element in the photo suggesting why he was over there or balancing him or attracting attention in some way that would make his being at the edge here relate to the photo, the context, or something, it might work. But as it is, it just reads as a random idea. Also, nice use of depth of field.
