It is a part of a scene from the dance  called: Monger. The story is about an owner of an estate that has 10 servants in a cellar and demands non stop......;-))

Troubling.  My association was to something twisted and puritanically oppressive.  Those tight bodices practically squeeze the life out of these wretched, tormented women.

Excellent use of the stage lighting, with good shadow detail and separation. Faces are extraordinarily expressive.

A beautiful vignette, Pnina, the choreographer's equivalent of an Old Master group portrait in chiaroscuro. If Rembrandt had painted dance companies like he did the members of the Night Watch, the result would have looked something like this
