The morning's shoot was not going well. I wanted to head up into Carrizo Plain to hopefully catch some wildflowers at sunrise, but within a few miles, I was engulfed in a thick fog. I decided to retreat and climb up the Elkhorn road cutoff to find a spot along the ridge overlooking the Elkhorn Plain, hopefully having a view from above the fog. No such luck. By now, there was enough light for me to be able top see the features of the landscape. As I descended from the ridge, I spotted this Bush Lupine. The composition just fell into my unexpected lap. The gnarled wood trunk, the vivid lupine lining the top of the bush with the valley below and the Temblor Range on the opposite side. By the time I recorded 4 exposures, the view succumbed to the lifting fog. My time at Carrizo Plain was done for now, but I will be back soon. Please consider the Larger preview and Thanks for your time!!

Very Beautiful photo Mark, with great color, lighting, background and overall composition is great.  Just frame it up and put it on your wall or for sale.

Mark...  You're the master of recorded reality... love it since it makes me feel like I'm there.  I've used that description often, but take it as a hallmark comment for my idea of an excellent landscape.   As always, extremely well done... Mike

Thank you Paul, Zsolt, Mike and Lalit! Another low rated image, yet the positive feedback from the four of you is sincerely appreciated!!
