I agree with Pierre. This starts moving from the realm of pure photography into a hybrid form of the graphic arts. The result is impressive.

thank you, Pierre & Jack.  i think that this turn in my work may be motivated at least in part in the fact that i'd love to be a painter, but have absolutely no ability!   my earliest interest in photography (like so many of us) was strongly motivated by my admiration and love of Ansel Adams work.  i suppose that the admiration didn't evolve into emulation of his work...as I'm now about as far from his style of photography as one could be.  next week...i may be off on a minimalist, abstract binge, and if so...i'm fine with it.  that's the beauty of this art form.  so many directions one can explore.  thanks again gentlemen!

thank you, Samme & Sergio!  This is one that I almost didn't get. I was on my way home, tired...not wanting to stop for anything, but then I caught a glimse of the barn through the cedar trees on the left and like any photographer worth their salt, I made myself find a place to pull off the road and amble into the field to take the shot.  i'm sure a quick browse through my portfolio would tell anyone that I love old barns.  not only do i like their for aesthetic reasons, but they bring back fond memories of being raised on a farm in Tennessee.  As well, barns like this one aren't being built any more...and once they're gone, all we'll have left of them are our memories and our pictures...so I want to document as many as I can before it's too late...
