also if the subject is the woman, the hidden subject seems to be the solidity of a couple. for me, but is early morning here.....

The 300mm objective and the short distance only being possible here, plus the used field of dept, were ment in getting just one (!) person (sharp) in focus. So, noticing the couple, I immediately decided the lady would be my goal. A crop indeed is possible in getting her more prominent, however at the end I did prefer the uncropped version. Thanks for the attention, the fresh photo now is one of my favorites.

you are right about the (hidden) solidarity..! The first title I had in mind, however thinking it too long, was: "In the slipstream of Bear." Now, afterwards, may be that title isn't that bad..! I will again think about that!

here is the story promised.

It was back in ground school in small town of south Slovakia, I was about 12 years, I reckon. and the hours of "natural science" were taken in lab, where this portrayal of Evolution of Human beings (ab ovo Australopithèque, Homo habilis) was on wall, catching my attention. it was maybe first time I realised in complexity/ context this circle of life. NO offend to elderly you pictured so nicely here. It just.. was something "new" for a boy who was growing, dealing with youngster mostly. I led a small (cca 15 members) group "whelps", galgans from neighbourhood yonder, making a daily plans for them, black marketing with russian soldiers for those shiny war insignia, doing research of ambient, playing, learning of fight and winning, believing of immortality..

btw. I am glad you changed title of this photography. old age is not only about negatives, we owe them SO MUCH.

By your very essential sketch in "black and white", being a reaction on the image, several "things" got clear to me and I'm especially pleased with the latter. In the past "medialess"age a boy could got a sailor because of the fact at home, on the wall, "only" was hanging an image of a sailingship..! Something like that you must have experienced (after) getting confrontated with the hanging illustration "Evolution of Human beings." After reading your report I fortunately immediately could place the information, cq the sharing. After that the next thoughts, story came up.

Our youngest son Eljakim, in 1985 and at the age of four, got a painfull wrist. Rather soon we were send to Breda in the south of the Netherlands. The hospital overthere was having the only MRI scan in the country. By the scanning it appeared Eljakim got pain because a small bone in his wrist was missing..

On a sunday very short after that we stood with the boy on the platform of our community. After sharing the facts I did ask the eldern for prayer and the annointing with oil. A few weeks later we could share Eljakim was free of pain, for another scan had shown all bones being present..! Amen.

"Time to say Goodbye" for me isn't just sad. However after, for a moment, imagening being native English speaking, I better understood the load it may have. Just one very illustrative tekst in sharing ánd the essence of the image plus the essence of also that care of our Creator: Romans 4 : 17, "..God who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did."

Boris, funny, while you was adventuring with the youth in the south of Slovakia, I in the Netherlands was sharing about the believers behind the "Iron curtain" and even "smuggling" Bibles to Romania. :)   See you, Olaf.

Your portrait of this lady is greatly strenthened by the presence of the man (relative, good friend or husband) and gives it context. They are in sync. The light (modelling) and colours are successful. it is difficult to get good human portraits in bright sunlight, but you succeed very well.
