The old master painters sure knew how to light a scene.  The only way we can be sure that this is indeed a painting is to include the frame for reference, so you did well by leaving that in your shot.  The guy standing is doing more than glancing, I feel.  He's taken more of a victory stance over the other prone subject. (his vanquished enemy?)  And I also don't think the other guy is doing any glancing other than at the back of his eyelids.  I think he's toast!  Gotta love the texture evident in the fleece your subject is wearing.  Just the way I see it.  Best, LM.

including the man in the corner as you have makes this photograph work enormously for me...

I think that the man on the RHS is creating the whole. It  has a nice humor on one side, and very good timing, light  and observation on the other side. Len well expressed the details. The next one has also  good timing and color palette.

The expression of the man is amazing and makes the photo of course. There is some sort of dialogue. This is a great work with light and shadow and it is something new and different from you. Excellent work, Andrea!

macchina nuova!

In Italia non ti fanno fotografare nei musei, come ci riesci con una D2x, che è un po' maestosa?

Questa foto è interessante per il quadro, ma il poverino nell'angolo tende a sparire. E' sbiadito come lo sfondo del quadro.

Andrea, great exposure and framing here. Fantastic how you got him. This is a keeper and I would like to see that kind as POW.

I like how the lines are flowing form Davids face down the arm, then the knee/leg to Goliath and finally to the 'center' of the image "the man" excluded from the painting by the frame.

And "the man" has to look up to David, in terms of size, beeing a Goliath for him.

Great composition of the art of painting and the art of photographing.

Ciao Axel
