dom1 1 Posted March 27, 2011 I captured this sail board enthusiast in the middle of a 360 flip. This happens when surfing just isn't quite enough. Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted March 30, 2011 This is an amazing shot which deserves a 7 but Pn has some silly rules that prevent me. Rated 6. Link to comment
swede621 0 Posted March 30, 2011 Doesn't look in control to me. Really nice shot though. Colors, composition and detail are great but the perfect timing stands out the most.Excellent work, Dominick... Link to comment
steveshinn 0 Posted March 30, 2011 Excellent action shot and wow colors Dominick. Any chance at these from a lower POV? It would be even more awesome at surf level. Link to comment
dom1 1 Posted March 30, 2011 Steve, it is possible to get a better POV at this location. When the wind is blowing real hard and my gear is blasted by salt water, I like to get a little higher where it's not so bad. Right now I baby all my camera equipment, but that's surely not going to get me the best shot. I just have to get over the newness of it! Aloha! Link to comment
steveshinn 0 Posted April 7, 2011 Lotsa plastic bags. duct tape and rubber bands fill my gear for this stuff. No adapting to salt water.Notes to all; IF you accidentally dump your uninsured.... gear (I hope everyone has their expensive stuff covered so that ANYthing gets you a new lens etc.) On the off chance that you haven't, Immediately plunge and dunk the gear several time in fresh water (arrest the corrosion) then run to the nearest market and buy a couple of bottles of alcohol. Pick up some large plastic bags and repeatedly dunk the equipment into the alcohol (it removes the water) and let it dry. DO NOT turn it on. Hair dryers on low heat can help. Finally, pack it n rice in a sealed plastic bag and LEAVE it for several days. I have used it on camcorders and iPods. It works! Science Rules!! Link to comment
dom1 1 Posted April 7, 2011 Are you talking isopropyl? I'd be tempted to grab 180 grain to kill the pain if I dunked my gear! Very good to know this, Steve. Thanks for putting it out there. Aloha! Link to comment
chwn 0 Posted May 10, 2011 Great capture! The last time I windsurfed in the ocean I almost killed myself. This guy looks like a pro. Nice exposure as well. Link to comment
