Crystal Fire I

This image is a composite of several elements: A quartz crystal was mounted inside of an egg shell and the center of the crystal illuminated with the light from a laser beam. The resultant monocromatic image was colored via conventional photographic techniques during the enlarging process. The "fire" was created by photographing an egg which had been doused with a flammable liquid and then suspended over a candle flame. The egg/crystal image and the egg/fire image were then combined digitally.
