The caption (title) says it all in this photo, taken in an Eastern country a

while ago. Your ratings, critiques and remarks are invited and most

welcome. If you rate harshly, very critically or wish to make an

observation, please submit a helpful and constructive comment; please

share your photographic knowledge to help improve my photography.

Thanks! Enjoy! John

Yes, his angle of watching exactly is right..! Congrats with the pleasure you got in the process of getting the title..! :) Yes, catching a good title nearly is as pleasant as catching the image..!

As you may have read, for a short while with Associated Press Photos, part of my job duties (until I moved up) was to caption photos - to make the caption interesting enough that a newspaper could publish the caption 'as is' and people around the world would look at the photo.

I didn't know how I would caption this one, and was stymied when I uploaded it, but it came to me in a flash as soon as I had uploaded it.  She's offering him something, she's dressed weirdly, she and the other guy are 'way out' and they're offering him something exciting.

I do get a great enjoyment out of taking an interesting photo -- especially an unusual one. Of course, this was a 'stakeout' with the idea that he would turn 'just so' and I could complete the photo, and of course, he did, as the subjects most often do.

Captioning them also is a very important thing -- a caption can resolve ambiguities in a photo or help it be understood when it's not quite clear (see my photo of the women offering 'love' and the two girls hugging in the background for a good example).

Yes, there's a great excitement in those special instances when I come up with just the correct  caption - and in retrospect none other would do.

Thanks for the comment, Olaf.
