Michael C, my great aunt was a nun.  Opened a convent in Rome in 1936.  Hid Jews from the Nazis.  There is no record of it because they did not keep records of things like that. 

As to what they did in their private time, of much less interest to me.

As mentioned before regarding this series, I have nothing but the greatest of respect and admiration for nuns, and the services they perform for society.

This is an allegory, meant not to degrade a nun's life, but rather to elevate it.  For me, revealing this particular nun's human and exposed side makes her all the more real, admirable, accessible and easier for the laymen and believer to identify with. 

And that's what I'm attempting to convey with this series - not badness, but goodness.  Not lasciviousness, but vulnerability.  Not a fairytale, but reality.  Not the rose colored, but the true, thorny path of life for the faithful.

Michael C, no one will ever accuse me of being that deep a thinker.  Which is fine with me.

LOL!  Not a big deal at all.  But if you think about it for a moment, you can see what a challenge it might be as a photographer to try and convey what I am with this very delicate, and potentially explosive subject matter.  I guess even at my ripe old age, I'm still up to a few challenges.
