I particularly like her dramatic facial expression. The use of B&W and the high tonal contrasts really enhance the dramatic look. The image is reminiscent of "film noir".  Kudos to you both.

...this photo contributes nothing to anything. It is banal, unadventurous, lacking little creativity, similar if not the same to most of your portfolio.  There's no tonal ....I'm wasting my time on this trivia.

Thank you for giving us your views Don, but if you know the portfolio so well and it is so little to your liking, why bother and waste your time.

Besides the usual great tonal richness and beautifully done environment, this one has an emotional charge, even kind of drama I dare say!

Cheers my friend!

John,

You can do much better !

(and to make it clear: I NEVER comment on the MODELS. I just comment the photographer's WORK ! Although I cannot refrain to appreciate beauty, which I often do...)

I love the picture, but after looking at it for a while, I noticed two minor points.  The reflection in the mirror and the electricity switch are a bit distractive.

Just two minor points, which might be easy to solve in PS.

Nevertheless excellent picture.

I like the uniform lighting here and the high technical quality of this work, the model is also vrey beautiful and competent with great potentials, the surrounding is also adding to the atmosphere of this image and enhencing its composition.

Wonderful job as usual my friend, thank you for sharing it and wishing you all of the best.

many thanks you for your attention friends, there are several flaws in the photo, including the shadow behind her head, but I  was more taken by the expression, the reason why I chose to post this one among others in the series.

This seems to have attracted the full range of comments, John.

I like what you are trying to do here. As Jim pointed out there is a very nice, old glamour, feel to this photograph. The tonality and lighting plus her pose and expression lead there. The visible furniture is also appropriate to that mood. To me, even the reflection in the mirror works. My only comment is the prominence of the door/window to the right. A little cropping there might have made this composition stronger.

John, what can I say... another one up to your normal standards of excellence!  Best, Michael

I strongly disagree with Mark on the cropping of the door/window. It gives the image depth (which enhances the "film noir" feel) and the crosspieces are strong leading lines to the model.  In particular, the top crosspiece leads the viewer's eye to the model's face/eyes where her eyes create the image's emotional impact.
