aarkp 2 Posted March 18, 2011 this potpourri of color embodies the very spirit of the festival... a riotous celebration with bhaang (a local narcotic)... and the anand tandava of Shiva... a celebration of life Link to comment

amalsircar 2 Posted March 20, 2011 Rashed, original shot was sharp. I have worked on the image, trying to give an impression of spraying of coloured water from different directions.Rajat, thank you for feedback. I do not disagree with what you wrote. That is darker and degenerated version of popular Holi Festival. You should see Vasanta Utsav at Santiniketan or Holi played in the dignified traditional way.Mehmet, thank you very much for your encouragement and support.Pierre, many thanks , dear friend.Kaushik, Oh, No! See you once in blue moon:-) Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted March 20, 2011 You have completed the cycle, my friend, and come back to the pre-schoolers wonder at pure color. Link to comment

I tried to portray that eclectic festival.Kallol, I have not played with colors, for several decades. I spend a quiet day, listening to music on the day of Holi. Link to comment

amrit_chatterjee 0 Posted March 22, 2011 Life never ceases to amaze. While we shared the deep sorrow of our brethren in the earlier image we are now celebrating the advent of spring which represents new life with this colourful image. The hues of this image will certainly fill our lives with joy and happiness much needed at this juncture. Great creation. Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted March 27, 2011 Karolos, thank you very much for your encouraging feedback.Cosmin, many thanks for your observation, dear friend.Amrit, I agree with you. I was not in a mood to celebrate Holi. But Nature was celebrating it with colors in trees.Sumon, your appreciation & support is a motivating factor me. Link to comment
alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted March 31, 2011 On its own, the photo is interesting. With the background information, it acquires the importance of its heritage. And for me, it brings back cherished memories of my school. I attended a fine school in New York from grades 1 through 12 where Art was a required course throughout. We used oil and another liquid (I can't remember what) to create an emulsion that was transferred to paper, dried and then used to make covers for our text books. They looked so much like this that your photo brought a tear to my eye. Thanks for shairng -Alberta Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted June 9, 2012 I see this on two levels: 1, something akin to understanding a component of the human genome project and 2, on an artistic level I see a large flower with petals forming a large portion of the image. Should be hung prominently in a gallery. Link to comment
