If the gesture being made means the same as it does in Europe and the US, this particular picture would seem to merely say that this is someone who doesn't want to be photographed. I feel this image is very far from your best - I have looked through your portfolio and for someone who says she is just starting in photography (or even completely ignoring this) you seem to have a large number of pictures of very high quality with a very powerful emotionally evocative atmosphere. Well done!

I love the "in your face"ness of this. There is no question that this woman is not happy about having her photo taken. However, the fact that you are so physically close to take this means that this is a person you are emotionally close to.
