Ice cracks shot over Abraham Lake at sunrise, Kootenay Plains, Alberta.

Thanks for any critiques/ratings, or comments. Chip

The clouds and the ice say that the view must go to the mountain as main subject; but I certainly thinks you wrong, the star is the ice and the picture rocks.

For some but, the snow on the left isn't breaking ice; but anyway I'm still looking for a similar shot from me.  We have a full life!  And, of course, 7/7.

A stunning addition to your already impressive portfolio. Great location, lighting and composition make this a 7/7 from me.

Sevened and favorited!

It's probably an optical illusion but the image appears to have a half degree clockwise rotation.

Outstanding! That ice is deeply cracked, and you were standing on it with your tripod, I assume. Only a true artist would be willing to risk life and limb for that perfect shot. You really did it. This is magnificent. 7

Chip - This absolutely rocks!  The ice pattern/color alone would be a great image.  The mnts, clouds, and additional ice is really perfect.  I'm sure you you took an image of just the ice, and would love to see that somewhere.  The lake seems to slope down to the right.  Might look a tad better if straightened, as that is what the eye expects.  In any case, magical!

Gorgeous image, with fascinating color and complexity in the ice. I'm hoping for MORE images exploring the ice dimensions -- got any? Please? Wonderful work you do -- thanks for sharing!
