This photo I took almost 19 years ago using Minolta analog camera; I

knew next to nothing about photography. It was a war time and

Dubrovnik was not spared, yet this fine gentleman decided to attend his

favourite barber-shop and take his shaving anyway...

yes, one can feel the modesty and fear to get closer.

yet, it would be very good street classic - cut from top and right (cca 1,5 cm) and in BW. the old mirrow, casualness and professionalism of the barber and the men reading the newspapper made it.

p.s. Vladimir - I would not publish the story behind the picture, at least for now. while it may drag people attention, complete the frame for them, it will perhaps (with utmost certainty) affect his comment.

now, I believe this one has story, without words

Excellent day life capture, Vlad ... the complete scene is delicious in all it´s details. I wouldn´t crop it ... the top allows our  imagination about all the peculiar things inside the barbery shop world ... and the wall on the right enhances the shot giving deep to the scene. Congrats, my friend ... a well deserved 7 and a hug.

I´d like to see the B&W version ....

Thank you for your comments, I do appreciate it...Boris, I think Ricardo made a point on your suggestions...There are also technical reasons that prevent me from going your way - it is a scan and negative was not world class so any cropping would cause decline in quality...Thanx again. BR,vf

Even without the info you supplied, the image suggests that something must be wrong; or, at odds with the rest of the image here. The rather dark interior, saturated colors, marks on the walls, a headless barber and a bodiless person all makes the viewer wonder what he/she is missing.

Thanks for reviving this oldie.
