You couldn't wish for better lighting.  This is tremendous - probably the most detailed and clear photo of a great blue I've ever seen.  Part of this is the dark background, but getting the bird out of the dark areas they like to hang around in probably helps.  DOF just right.  Nice diagonal with the bird's wings.  Perfect.
