Good photo Vishwanath. Warm evening light with good use of Velvia film and subtly done adequate composition make a good shot.

Framing, title and signature are unobstracting and informative, I can't understand the previous comment.

This is when we had pretty much given up on getting any good pictures

last Sunday morning, with all our plans going astray. This is an

image from the Shoreline Lake in Mountain View, California. Your

comments are welcome. Thanks.

Nice light, interesting crop, but what is the subject? If all the trees were like the first one, it would provide an interesting exploration of lines, but with the mass of fine branches above, and the rather plain ground below it seems to lack a goal.

your comments Steel, Alberto and Greg. Greg - The subject in my mind was just the light and the morning and the partial bench between the trees. There are some photographs that I like simply because there is no particular point of interest. The whole scene in general is of interest. Such images, IMHO are there to create a sense of longing in the viewer to just be in a place of that kind and enjoy it for what its worth. I have seen many images on this forum which are like that. I have this yearning to be where the photographer was, and maybe even forget about photography - 8^)

That's a very interesting comment, Vishwanath. I must have passed this place a thousand times, the idea of making such an image never occurred to me. The alignment of the trees, as a compositional element, has a subtle attraction to it, absorbs me into the ambience of a quiet Sunday morning. The colors are of course outstanding. This is surely a memorable image. Thanks for sharing.

reminds me of camille pissarro's "Groves of chestnut trees at louveciennes". IMHO, composition is excellent. There neednt be a main subject, but a study of the effect of light. One suggestion would be to capture this again at sunset/Sunrise. Rather at different times of sunset/sunrise.
