sailing by

Phil:  Nice shot but I think it would be better if the boats were sailing into the picture towards each other rather than out of the picture away from each other.  Normally you want subject to face into the picture otherwise if facing out it pulls the viewer's eye away from the photo rather than into it.  Also, the wake of an unseen boat cutting through the middle is distracting.   This is what makes photography so challenging because you often have to deal with stuff in a picture you have little control over.  Things always seem to be getting in the way!    Alan
